  4.     Escom, now there's a name that rings a bell. Let me see........OHHH..

  6. I know who they are ! Yes, of course.....they're the company that bought

  8. Commodore. You know, the one that promised to advertise the Amiga more

  10. than Commodore did, the one that said that they had the best interests of
  11.  
  12. the Amiga at heart, even though they sell P.C's as well. 
  13.  
  14.     Now to be perfectly honest, I have never doubted Amiga Technologies
  15.  
  16. promises, I have never said that Escom were Dog-Shite (apart from small
  17.  
  18. lapses of memory) and I still think that AT could still push the Amiga
  19.  
  20. as either a high-end presentation system, or a rendering system. We all

  22. know that the Amiga has the best price/performance ratio, and is also 
  23.  
  24. the easiest computer to use in the whole world. In fact, just between
  25.  
  26. you and me that is, I've actually sent off a little letter to Escom 
  27.  
  28. detailing a plan to take over the world using Amiga written virus programs.
  29.  
  30. These would destroy all P.C's on the planet, and would mean that Escom
  31.  
  32. could step in and replace all of them with Amigas ( or Amega Amigas - see
  33.  
  34. other article ). 
  35.  
  36.     Anyway, I feel that AT could really be on in a good thing, as soon
  37.  
  38. they get some more money from the parent company. You see, you have to 
  39.  
  40. remember that Amiga Technologies are a daughter company of Escom, in the

  42. same way that Commodore-Amiga was a daughter company of Commodore 
  43.  
  44. international. Anyway, as soon as they get some money, they can really
  45.  
  46. get going on some R&D (Research and Development) programs. Some things
  47.  
  48. that they could spend the money on are :-
  49.  
  50.     1) Join forces with Silent Paw Products (See other articles for
  51.  
  52. details on that company). They could then flood the market with Amiga
  53.  
  54. portables, so that people like me ( read: rich ) could buy one, and then
  55.  
  56. wouldn't have to use CrossDos and a Psion Organiser 3A all of the time.
  57.  
  58. These portables needn't cost more than £1500 pounds ( including a 
  59.  
  60. Hard-Drive ) and would be absolutely amazing.............probably.
  61.  
  62.     2) Produce an amazingly high-end computer with a 68060, oodles of 
  63. @5
  64. memory and an extra special super f*cking huge hard-drive (I'm talking at
  65.  
  66. least 3 gigabytes here), and sell it to the people using Silicon Graphics
  67.  
  68. Workstations. It'd be just as good, but A LOT cheaper. (And I mean A LOT)

  70.     3) Spend at least £10,000 on buying a hugely expensive computer.....

  74.     4) Sell a book full of smilies : meet cheep....the robot who'll

  78.     5) Get their bollocks into gear and start advertising the Amiga.

  80. And if they don't do it.....I for one will be sending nasty threat

  82. letters telling them off straight away.

  84.     6) Give $5000 to Jon Anderson so he can have a Hair Transplant.

  89.     On the whole, I would really say that Escom could be a friend or

  91. a foe, and that we'll just have to wait until the new PowerPC board comes

  93. out for the high-end Amigas, and/or when the supposed new ' PowerAmiga '

  95. comes out either this or next year......now......where have I heard that
  96.  
  97. one before ?.....Oh!.....I wonder. (I mean Commodore for all those thick

  99. b*st*rds out there (hello Molgrat).
